An Excellent LASIK Alternative: Advanced Surface Ablation
Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA) is an excellent option for people who engage in contact sports, for individuals who suffer from dry eyes, and for those who cannot undergo traditional LASIK due to thin corneas.
The ASA procedure does not require the creation of a corneal flap and no microkeratome blade is used as in other laser vision correction surgeries. Instead, a small section of corneal cells is gently polished away using a diluted alcohol solution. Laser reshaping takes place on the corneal layer below.
